SPECIAL DAY - OFFICE CLOSED

SPECIAL DAY - OFFICE CLOSED
It's a special day here at United Nathan Productions so the office is closed for a few days. Back soon. Enjoy the end of April!

32 HOURS 7 MINUTES - UPDATE

32 HOURS 7 MINUTES

32 Hours 7 Minutes is the record time it took to drive from Los Angeles to New York on October 15, 1983. We posted information on the film of the same name back in January. Since then we have waited with anticaption for news on the release of the film. Turns out the filmmakers are trying to get a theatrical release. Good luck to them. Failing that, the film will be released on DVD. Whichever is first, we will be the first in line to see it. Check the film's website for an updated gallery of photos from the actual race.

RED IS THE LATEST ADIDAS ADICOLOR

RED IS THE LATEST ADIDAS ADICOLOR

As mentioned in a previous post, Adidas has a great new series of ads coming out to promote their Adicolor product. The film series celebrates color, customization and personal expression. Each director was given a blank canvas to create a short film based on their emotional and creative response to a given color - red, blue, yellow, green, pink, black or white. The seven directors are Roman Coppola & Andy Bruntel, Neill Blomkamp, PSYOP, TRONIC, Saiman Chow, Charlie White, and HAPPY.

ORBIT WHITE GUM COMMERCIAL

ORBIT WHITE COMMERCIAL

THE MONKEY REPORT - ON THE SET:

The folks at Wrigley's have done a fantastic job with the marketing of their Orbit White gum. The Step into The Bright campaign was really unique, as is a recent commercial that I had the pleasure of working on. The concept basically revolves around a man who is driving and becomes so enamored with how white his teeth are that he drives through a museum. Watch it now.

Now that you have watched it, I want to point out that the live action footage was filmed in Prague while the museum footage was filmed in a studio in Vancouver. Don't believe me? Look at the photos. The set was 13 feet long. It took a handful of guys 28 days to build and it looks amazing! Precise calculations for positioning the camera and getting the perfect angles as well as great post production allowed the miniature footage to blend seamlessly into the live action material for a great commercial.

FACE OF CHAMP CAR - THE TECATE MISS GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH

FACE OF CHAMP CAR

THE MONKEY REPORT:

The time has come to expand on my earlier post. As mentioned before, I am The Monkey responsible for paying the bills around here. In an effort to do so, I have become affiliated with the folks at Procon Leisure International. They are responsible for a competition the revolves around beautiful women and race cars. Call me crazy, but how could I resist.

For the 2006 Champ Car race season, United Nathan Productions has been enlisted to document the happenings of each event. Essentially, girls compete in a beauty pageant - The Miss Grand Prix - that takes place in 8 cities - Long Beach, Houston, Cleveland, Toronto, Edmonton, San Jose, Denver and Australia. Winners from those cities then go to Mexico City for the prestigious opportunity to become the Face of Champ Car and take on all the responsibilities that entails.

Taking place on April 9, The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach was the first race of the season. I was there and although I concentrated on my responsibility of capturing moving images of all of the beautiful women, I managed to grab a some photos. Check them out here. Congratulations to The 2006 Miss Grand Prix of Long Beach - Holly Weber, as well as Lauren McDonald - first runner up, Venus Ramos - second runner up and all of the gorgeous girls that competed.

MATZAH: WHAT'S UP WITH IT?

MATZAH: WHAT'S UP WITH IT?
It's Passover and we're tired of explaining what it's all about. The fine folks at Chabad have done a superb job creating, Matzah: What's Up With It? Take a video tour of an authentic matzah-bakery in this very well made, brand-new documentary-style presentation, hosted by Jono... the puppet.

EASTER POSTING - ADIDAS ADICOLOR

ADIDAS ADICOLOR

Easter is here and we understand that right now it's all about bunnies and chocolate which is why it is so hard to tell you that The Easter Bunny hates you. Rather than do that, we are going to point out a rather interesting ad campaign that Adidas is embarking on to promote their adicolor products.

Adidas is creating a film series celebrating color, customization and personal expression.

THE MONKEY'S FIRST ROAD REPORT

Odd timing for an introduction. I am a Nathan, but around here they call me The Monkey. My role here on the United Nathan Productions BLOG is to post items related directly to current projects I am working on. You see, unlike the other Nathan's at UNP, I have focused my energies towards paying the rent. That means that I don't always exhibit my creativity and quite often I am working for other people. Right now I am in California working on a continuing project called FACE OF CHAMP CAR. Essentially it is an event associated with the Indy/Champ Car racing series. More details later, but rest assured, it is hot, fast and loud down here
