LOSING NUMBERS

LOSING NUMBERS

Serious apologies from us at United Nathan Productions. There are no excuses. We can say say that it has been rather hectic around here and we couldn't find the time to blog or we can lie and say that our procrastination has gotten the better of us. Nope. We won't say those things. We won't even mention the box of sick kittens we found out back in the alley that we have been nursing back to health. Sorry, but the blame for not blogging is entirely ours - not the kittens.

We must thank you for your readership and committment to visiting out blog. Understandably, we do recognize the importance of posting on a regular basis. The result of not doing so leads to losing numbers of faithful readers. If anyone has a heart (read the above paragraph about the kittens) you will understand and not remove us from your bookmarks.

Best Regards,

Also congrats to Sebastian Bordais who won the race and is on his way to yet another championship. Check out a small selection of photos here.

EDGAR ALLAN POE'S
"THE TELL-TALE HEART"

EDGAR ALLAN POE'S THE TELL-TALE HEART

Maybe there is a trend in black and white animation-type films right now... regardless, this one looks just as eye catching as Christian Volckman's Renaissance. Based on Edgar Allan Poe's short story, The Tell-Tale Heart, the film of the same name is a psychological portrait of a mad narrator - a murderer who can't stop hearing his victim's relentless heartbeat. In this case, the film is appropriately narrated by the long deceased Bela Lugosi (1882-1956).

CHRISTIAN VOLCKMAN'S RENAISSANCE

CHRISTIAN VOLCKMAN'S RENAISSANC
Wow! Renaissance is Christian Volckman's new film. Think Blade Runner, Metropolis, The Matrix, Minority Report and Japanese manga comics all combined to create this black and white futuristic thriller set in Paris of 2054. The film looks amazing, but there is one catch, it is in French. At least the trailer is. That shouldn't stop you from seeing it - Miramax is distributing the film in the U.S. and Daniel Craig (the new James Bond) is voicing the main character. Go here for more info in English or visit the film's very well made site here.

BBC'S RUSSIAN FILM MONTH SPOT

RUSSIAN FILM MONTH COMMERCIAL

THE MONKEY REPORT - ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN:

I love teddy bears as much as the next guy, but you wouldn't want to give this bear a hug. Standing nine and a half feet tall this Kodiak Grizzly weighs more than 1600 pounds! He made his way up to Hemlock Mountain just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia to star in this commercial for BBC's More4 Russian Film Month. The premise of the commercial is quite simple. The bear represents the Russian Empire and the wolf and the bear traps are the forces that brought the once great nation down. It is the downfall of the Russain Empire... in 60 seconds.

Let me tell you that working in snow is no easy task. Everything is more difficult, plus on this job there was the added danger of being eaten by a massive bear. A one point I heard someone shout at me, "Don't pay attention to him!" With that he was referring to a wolf who was sniffing me as I was cleaning a lens. He then started to lick my face before moving on to pee in an untouched expanse of white snow. Pretty cool. Check out some photos from the shoot here.
