BLACK IS THE LAST ADIDAS ADICOLOR SPOT
The terrifically unique Adidas adicolor campaign has come to an end with the release of the last spot by Saiman Chow for the color black. Be wared, this black and white stop motion piece about a little panda is a little twisted. The film series celebrates color, customization and personal expression. Each director was given a blank canvas to create a short film based on their emotional and creative response to a given color - red, blue, yellow, green, pink, black or white. The seven directors are Roman Coppola & Andy Bruntel, Neill Blomkamp, PSYOP, TRONIC, Saiman Chow, Charlie White, and HAPPY. Subscribe to the podcast or watch the current episodes: → BLACK, Once you go black, you never go back. → RED, a brief history of red by Roman Coppola & Andy Bruntel. → YELLOW, yellow is different by Neill Blomkamp. → BLUE, not the blue you that you used to know. → PINK, supremely unique with a super cute teddy bear. → WHITE, featuring Jenna Jameson. → GREEN, with the Finkel's and the Gladstone's. NEIL BLOMKAMP - ADICOLOR YELLOW IS DIFFERENT
The latest Adidas Adicolor film is out. This one is directed by one of our favorite director's, Neill Blomkamp of Tetra Vaal and Alive in Joberg fame. We were pleased to see that Yellow was shot by a friend of ours... the talented Trent Opaloch. Keep up the good work Neill and Trent! BBC'S RUSSIAN FILM MONTH SPOT
THE MONKEY REPORT - ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN: I love teddy bears as much as the next guy, but you wouldn't want to give this bear a hug. Standing nine and a half feet tall this Kodiak Grizzly weighs more than 1600 pounds! He made his way up to Hemlock Mountain just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia to star in this commercial for BBC's More4 Russian Film Month. The premise of the commercial is quite simple. The bear represents the Russian Empire and the wolf and the bear traps are the forces that brought the once great nation down. It is the downfall of the Russain Empire... in 60 seconds. Let me tell you that working in snow is no easy task. Everything is more difficult, plus on this job there was the added danger of being eaten by a massive bear. A one point I heard someone shout at me, "Don't pay attention to him!" With that he was referring to a wolf who was sniffing me as I was cleaning a lens. He then started to lick my face before moving on to pee in an untouched expanse of white snow. Pretty cool. Check out some photos from the shoot here. Labels: commercial
RED IS THE LATEST ADIDAS ADICOLOR
As mentioned in a previous post, Adidas has a great new series of ads coming out to promote their Adicolor product. ORBIT WHITE GUM COMMERCIAL
THE MONKEY REPORT - ON THE SET: The folks at Wrigley's have done a fantastic job with the marketing of their Orbit White gum. The Step into The Bright campaign was really unique, as is a recent commercial that I had the pleasure of working on. The concept basically revolves around a man who is driving and becomes so enamored with how white his teeth are that he drives through a museum. Watch it now. Now that you have watched it, I want to point out that the live action footage was filmed in Prague while the museum footage was filmed in a studio in Vancouver. Don't believe me? Look at the photos. The set was 13 feet long. It took a handful of guys 28 days to build and it looks amazing! Precise calculations for positioning the camera and getting the perfect angles as well as great post production allowed the miniature footage to blend seamlessly into the live action material for a great commercial. EASTER POSTING - ADIDAS ADICOLOR
Easter is here and we understand that right now it's all about bunnies and chocolate which is why it is so hard to tell you that The Easter Bunny hates you. Rather than do that, we are going to point out a rather interesting ad campaign that Adidas is embarking on to promote their adicolor products. Adidas is creating a film series celebrating color, customization and personal expression. 2006 SUPER BOWL COMMERCIALS
SPIKE JONZE - MILLER LIGHT AUDITIONS
Part of a long rumored Miller Light campaign set to air during the Super Bowl, these seem to be part of the viral web aspect of the television ads. Directed by one of our favorites, Spike Jonze, these clips seem very similar to one of our previous projects. Not to say he ripped us off, but at least capturing the intrigue of the audition process is the same. Watch our trailers for the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival... CAR WEEK: THE TRUNK MONKEY
Originally created in January, 2000 by Sean Sosik-Hamor, the Trunk Monkey concept consists solely of a trained monkey and a steady source of ice cold high-quality import ale or lager. The Trunkmonkey lives in the trunk of any vehicle and helps to automate weight transfer at the rear wheels during spirited driving maneuvers. Redeveloped for The Suburban Auto Group, you can now control road rage with your vehicle's trunk monkey option. Check out the original Trunk Monkey here. Also of note is The Trunk Monkey Theft Retrieval System. We want one regardless of the cost! Learn more about The Trunk Monkey here.Labels: cars, commercial
